I just placed my order for the OEM hitch and Valance. I think he's saying if you have the hands free option and don't have the tow package to be careful cutting the original valance because of where the sensors are located. I would personally buy a new valance with the cutout for the hitch for a cleaner/oem look and won't have to worry about cutting the handsfree sensors

This is how "before market" trailer hitch looks like in Europe. It includes trailer assistant option as well. From outside it is hard even to determine, does Q7 has trailer hitch or not.

The bike racks in US (like Thule) mount into a hitch receiver (1.25" or 2") such as this:
The swiveling ***** doesn't have this particular option ......
If you don't have the hitch receiver, you would either have to have a different type of bike rack or carry it on the roof rack.
