Well I finally got around to installing aftermarket hitch. Like OP said, it's not hard but it's going to take a few hours if it's your first time. Also having a torx driver rather than trying to use a torx key is a must. Hitch location is a bit low but makes it easier for me to load a bike up.
Drove roughly 100 miles this morning, Q7 handles the weight well (~500 lbs). I do miss having air suspension self-leveling on my old Land Rover as there is a little bit of rear suspension squat.

I got the factory tow package (which includes pre-wiring), but didn't get the 7-pin connector that add for $125 at port.
What part can I get that will add the 7-pin connector?

This says Q7 "with factory tow package" and has both types of connectors on it so it seems nicer. Will my Q7 with factory tow package have the wire that plugs into the back of this?
