Default Airbag Light Stays On

Got back from a 700 mile road trip last week and all was great.. The Q performed awesome even saw 30 mpg indicated in the trip computer which blew me away, I actually had my wife take a picture of it to show to my oldest son who I know wouldn't believe it....

Anyway, back home and several days later, this past Sunday I start it and all of a sudden this message appears and the airbag on icon stays on and won't go off.

I called my service advisor yesterday and she told me to bring it in Saturday, she said she is pretty sure it is just a software update.. She also told me that if I have the time they may be able to do the fix for the squealing brakes since she put me on the list months ago. I may be a little pressed for time but we'll see how it goes..

UPDATE: I took the Q7 in on Saturday and they updated the software of the Airbag Control Module. The RO states "performed recall 69W9"..

I figured I would post this in case anyone else runs into the same issue..It took all of an hour and it was done..

Two days ago, I received a recall letter about this issue. I will have to get in contact with my dealer to see what's next since my airbag control light does not stay on as described in the letter so I need to find out if they want to work on my vehicle, too.

I got the letter too, and it says free fix will expire Dec 2020, so I would have the update done before then if the light is on or not...

I also got the recall letter last night, I'll probably just have them do it next service (or if it comes on)
