Default Auto Lock & Beeps at Car Wash

I have noticed a few times that when I am in the self car wash place, right after the pressure wash spreads the water on the windshield, the Q7 locks itself. Then the car keeps beeping with flashing lights as long as I am washing the windshield.

I cannot find anywhere in the owner's manual that references this behavior. Has anyone experienced this besides me? Thanks.

It's normal. It happens when I wash my A3 and my parent's A6 and Q5 in the driveway and have the key in my pocket. It happened with my Civic Si too.

Thanks, now I feel relived!

I guess the rain sensor on the windshield must have something to do with this.

Not the rain sensor. It's the capacitive touch sensors in the door handles that register the water splashing on it and mistake it for your finger/hand. Keep the keys inside the car or away from the car when washing and you won't have this issue.

That makes sense then. Yes I had the key in my pocket.

Thanks for the information!
