Default Brand New 2018 Q7 3.0T PP Low bass like sound from engine

Hi All,

I just bought a new Q7, and has 500 miles on it now. I bought here in NH, and i'm noticing a low hum or deep bass like sound coming from the engine. Before you say, do a search - I did and found bearing issue as one possible problem (that seems likely and maybe unlikely at the same time) and issues with Supercharger clutch. It happens at low speed, where the car has a super deep sound. Has anyone experience this? I'm skeptical being a supercharger issue, but this is my first time owning a SC so i don't know.

Thanks,
Murali

When do you hear this? Accelerating from a stop? 0-30? 0-60?

Low speeds, like 50 mph or less I hear it the most. It's like droning sounds of sub woofer. Thanks for your help on this!

Default Similar sound from wife’s 2018 Q7 3.0

My wife’s car is making the same noise. Dealer just replaced the wheel bearings and noise is still present. Noise is like a dull groan at slow speeds.

How may miles on the car?

I actually think it's from the run flats, because the noise has dissipated quite a bit.

Hmmm...it seems odd that a wheel bearing need to be replaced so soon, and I thought that doesn't sound right either that would be the cause.

My only conclusion is the tire breaking in, that's when i really hear it at low speeds. Do you have a 2018?
