I gave up and went with the old fashioned visor clip. The first button works fine for the garage door but the second and third button forgets the gate code after a couple weeks.

Button 3 on mine will sometimes not work the first time I press it, but eventually if I get close enough to the garage and keep pressing it maybe 3-5 times, it will open. I assumed it was something to do with the range working better or worse intermittently, but maybe it's more than that based on the replies in this thread.
