Default Can I set the mmi to be off by default?

I pretty much only use it for the parking cameras. Any way to have it off on start until the parking cams are triggered? Or even down on start?

You can try to press and hold the round **** in the center console for 3 seconds. It should turn off the MMI.

is there any way to keep the aux audio playing while having the screen off? Once I turn the screen off the audio stops

do you want to turn the MMI off or do you want to turn the screen off? It sounds like you want the MMI to be operational, but you asked about turning the MMI off.

Can you lower your screen after starting the car (if your Q7 was made prior to May 2018, it has that functionality)? I am able to use audio (ie Car Play) with screen retracted.

i have a 2019 2.0 q7, if it’ll do that, how? Do I physically push it down?

Unfortunately, it's not possible as Audi removed that capability sometime in May 2018 to comply with US backup camera regulations (see thread below). So far, no one has been able to bypass this though OBDII or similar coding. Q7's manufactured prior to May 2018 still have that capability (there is a console button all the way to the right to lower the screen - you don't push it down manually). My Q7 was built in March 2018 so still has that functionality.

HOWEVER, to your question - it seems that the same button that I use to retract the screen you can use to turn the display off (at least, that's what the first post in that linked thread says). Try it - the button is the top right

This is it. The screen for 2019 MY no longer goes down while the car is on. Bummed me out when I found that out as I was looking forward to having a clean dash while driving.
