i have an MY 2017 as well. Very strange.

Thank you! The two foremen at my Audi dealership were cool and understood it was a problem eventually but the service guy really made me feel like it was a just an "inconvenience" that I was complaining about. It makes CarPlay unusable esp in city conditions!

One of the reasons I decided against the MDX was the lack of CarPlay. That wasn’t the only reason but it was on the list. So while it isn’t the end of the world, it is something that I use every day when driving and annoys me every day.

Ok, rushed to install iOS 11.3 and tried it out....it works!! Tried both reversing and then activating parking assist and CarPlay came back as expected.

I hope it sticks and that everyone else has similar results!!

Updated on my end last night. Everything worked like it was supposed to on my commute this morning. Both in reverse and parking sensors. Pleasant surprise.

Installing 11.3 now and will look forward to jumping in the car later this morning!

Default So far so good
updated my phone last night. Got into the Q7 this morning, started up, plugged in phone, waited for CarPlay to start and then backed out of the garage (yes, I did open the garage door before starting the vehicle.). Backup camera and proximity sensors worked appropriately. I put the vehicle in drive headed off, and CarPlay came back on! If anything else changes I will send an update. So far iOS 11.3 seems to have fixed this issue.
