Cargo Mat and Trunk Cover

Taking delivery of my Q7 soon, and looking at accessories.

- any take on the audi vs. weathertech cargo mat. We're going to be doing a fair amount of skiing, so I figured want to protect from throwing ski boots and stuff
- The cover I assume goes to second row. We do have a fair bit or car crime, so anything visible like my earthquake kit is fair game

We'll probably not use the third row more than about once a month at most, because I assume it's a pain with both of these to remove them or fold them up or whatever.

Couldn't be easier - stand at the back of the car - push a button & watch them magically rise (or fall). No physical effort required.

100% consensus agree Weathertech over Audi mats. There are threads you can find that provide pics, etc.

I bought this for the third row. Perfect fit, excellent quality and much cheaper than Weathertech.

Were you referring to the mat and cover folding up or the seats themselves?

I didn't mean to imply Weathertech was the only good choice over Audi's. I bought a roughly 1/2 sized mat from Sams that works great for a fraction of the price as I don't want/need my whole 'trunk' area rubberized.

The seats - they're power fold / extend.
You do have to remove the retracting trunk cover first though.

FWIW, if you call Weathertech and mention you have AAA, it's 5% off.

And on this same theme, am looking for a rear cargo mat myself, but specifically, one that can fold into thirds for when the third row of seats is being used -- I don't want to have to remove it and stow it somewhere whenever that third row is being used. I've searched far and wide on this, but to no avail. An "Aries" folding cargo liner used to work, but the model line ended in 2015: .

Oddly enough, I've loved my Acura MDX folding cargo liner, so I might well just have to sacrifice it by customized trimming to fit it to my Q7. Any other thoughts would be welcome and appreciated.
