That is what I have been saying! Or at least a way to tap in. I already have FOUR cameras. They view the entire vehicle. Why can't we just plug in a chip that will record the last 24 hours?

I put in the Viofo camera. It is really tiny but it does work. I bought a 'mirror tap' and it was easy and no wires showing. But... then I found something called an OWL CAM that looks to be much better. I ordered it but it will not be here until mid march.

Check it out. If it does what it says it will do I already love it!

That's like a small CRT TV on your dash. Most people prefer something small, and personally I prefer something without a screen. I guess we can wait for their v 2.0 because it seems like a prototype at this stage, or a "pilot" version.

Finally had some spare time, so I ordered these:

Are you guys keeping the parking mode enabled or disabled?

Has anyone installed one of these? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Audi-A8-Q7-...AAAOSwqd1Zu9-c

I asked my dealership about it and they said they can’t even order it from the U.S. I told my service tech I’d order it, but then dealership installation is $350, which seems like WAY TOO MUCH for a dash cam installation, no? I’m just not bold enough to attempt it on my own.

Kodus to you for making it work. I just spent two hours with a Blackvue 750S 2CH and a Power Magic Pro. Went straight to the same fuses you used, but nothing. No green light no power to cam... drives me crazy! I have a 2018 Audi Q7... Quite frustrating! Used two different PMPs and two sets of cables... no luck.

Anyone else had a luck with a Blackvue PMP ?

Something is not right.
I am not sure who are you replying to, but if it's to this post: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-.../#post25076269
Then you can try drawing Permanent and Switched powers from two different fuses.
Did you try just one first to see if that works? Also make sure PMP jumpers are in correct position.

I used the same switched power he used (red cable is switched, yellow cable is constant power) and I was able to install my A119 V2 without problem.
I believe Yellow fuse block is switched, Red fuse block is always on.

Good luck.

I tapped mine into the compartment over the rear view mirror. But I have so many regrets. After I installed it, I found something called the OWL CAM.
LTE and WIFI download right to your phone. Plus, it was super easy to install. It took me less than five minutes to get it working.

Always on with battery run down protection. This plugs into you OBD port. It now knows when you start your car, where you are, when someone bumps your car you get a notification. Ability to look back for the last 24 hours on your phone. Plus, if something interesting happens you just say "OK PRESTO" and the last twenty seconds of video is sent to you phone. It's a little pricy at $350 but that covers one year of LTE service. Hey, if your driving a Q7 you can afford this.

I've been eyeing the Owl camera, and was curious whether it would fit the Q7 given the pop-up display. Is there enough space between the windshield and pop-up screen for the mounting mechanism? One concern I had was that the display would block the inside facing camera. Or does the mounting position put the camera above the display? And if you don't mind one more question, do you find the interface/user experience to be superior? I like the easy install, but I'm debating whether I should go with something less visible. If it really is as easy-to-use as Dropcam, then I might be willing to go this route.

The Owl came with 4 different length mounts. The third longest was able to get over the nav screen no problem.

Did any one of you guys who bought the rexing-type cams also buy the polarized lens filter? Q7 has a lot of dash reflection.
