Default Defect with Display of album art in MMI

2 days ago, I noticed a defect in the display of album art in the MMI. This happens whether I'm listening to Sirius/XM, iPod or SD drive. There is, from the right upper cover of the image, a band of brightness that does not exist on the image. It's hard to describe, so here is a picture. Notice the anomaly within the red box. Have anyone else seen this or have an idea what's going on? Thx.

looks like just a graphical "light reflection" effect that the MMI adds to add depth/3-dimensionality to the album art.

doesn't seem like a defect TBH.

At first I though it might be an 'effect' but here's the issue:
Why did I just notice it?
The effect should far more subtle, barely noticeable. The bottom line of the effect slices through the artwork, not good.

Does it happen when you are listening to HD radio?

I have not listened to my SD card recently so I am not sure, but I am very sure it does not happen to my MMI for the HD radio.

Are you able to take a bigger and higher resolution picture?

It's visible for every type of thumbnail. Does anyone else see this?

I agree, more 'by design' than a defect. I googled and saw this image where it seems to appear even when displayed in the virtual cockpit cluster.

I stopped by the dealer today just to "test drive" the audio system again in a new loaded Q7. Without a doubt, it's definitely just a light reflection effect added to the graphics. It's actually a cool effect and doesn't bother me one bit.

It is easier to see the "effect" with the default thumbnail image:

I guess this is by design as some sort of lighting effect.

Well guys, thanks so much for posting images - that's exactly what I see. Saved me a trip to the dealer - LOLZ. As I dabble in graphic arts, I'm surprised at this effect. It does not add, and IMHO, severely distracts from the image, with a diagonal line often slashed through faces and text.

What is the model of the cable you are using to get that cover art to show off your ipod?
