I know this is a European video, but do we get the trailer assistance that is shown at the 2 minute mark of this video?


Also, do US Q7's have the amber rear turn signal LEDs shown in the video or are our rear turn signals red?

In the video you also see in the technology map the electronically locking tow bar, which I dont think is available in the US. Then you need parking assistant. Maybe only for Europe?

If you watch carefully in the video, the dash button used to activate the trailer assist and the park assist is the same button. That button will not be present in US models, so no, there won't be trailer assist in the US. Bummer.

Also, that pretty much dashes any hopes for a software-only upgrade in the future to enable park assist. Seems as though any upgrade would have to involve installation of the required activation button.

Chances are they are reserving all that for a refreshed model. One of the things that holds me back from getting a Q7 is the fact that many features and options first show in Detroit are not present on US cars. A real shame too.

I agree. There is enough new wizardry in this new model that it is enough to make me bite (mine comes in three weeks). That plus the age of my current Q7. But I will be an unhappy customer if they add stuff like self park next year with no path for current owners to upgrade that feature.
