Default Firmware update early 2017 build

Can anyone confirm if they were successful in upgrading the firmware at the dealership.I have early 2017 build Q7 and would like to know what is the process to upgrade the firmware.

In theory it should be possible. However either not a lot of dealerships are knowledgeable or capable of doing an upgrade, or possibly it may not be entirely possible to do it on early hardware. There have been reports that dealers refused to perform an upgrade simply because (typical response - as no issue found to require update), and there have been other users reporting a need to change the control modules in order to support newer firmware (I'm skeptical that this was really necessary). It seems that any possible paths to upgrade are controlled and decided by the dealer. There is currently no other recourse as these upgrades are not available OTA or via download (it's a shame). You really won't know until you go and ask.
