Cargo Cover not long enough

Cargo Cover not long enough
2018 Q7 S-Line UK spec
I've recently purchased a 4M Q7 and notice the cargo cover has a big gap between the rear seats and the cargo cover itself, leaving the content underneath visible. I'm a videographer and would like to keep all my equipment out of sight.
Has anyone found a solution to this gap? I need the extra boot space so reclining the seats is not an option. Thanks

I was surprised to find that the cover for my 2017 wasn't like the one in my 2013 that had two "shades" that pulled out from the cover housing & attached to the second row seat backs - thus covering any exposed area in the trunk.

Yeah thats a much better design. do you know if that would fit the current shape?

^^ This is what I do, if need be I simply recline the second row seats and it fills in the gap..

Probably the only way to find out would somehow obtain a first generation one & try it out. One obvious problem would be that there are no anchor points on the backs of the seats in the new version.

I admit I never even considered cars seats when reading this thread since my "boys" at 24, 20 & 17 are well past the car seat stage.. LOL.. But yeah I can see how the recline option wouldn't work well for those of you with car seats...
