Front Parking Sensors

I can also confirm my Q7 activate parking sensors automatically when approaching obstacles in the front. However, only sensors are activated automatically, not the 360 degree view or cameras. Cameras only activated when shift into reverse or manually hit the parking assist button. My Q7 is manufactured in 0516, with MMI software 0692.

Check this very short video I've just made and you will see it working.

Unless your location is noted in your avatar and your model and year is noted in your sig, it's impossible for others to know what works on what and where.

Ok, so I also make a video to show it. Like I said before, I lived in San Jose, CA. My car is a 2017 US Q7, manufactured in May 2016, with MMI software 0692. Here's the video link to show.

Since some still don't report what year and model they have, I'm going to hazard a guess. Only the MIB2 MY2017 Q7 MKII (and maybe the 2017 A4) so far will have front sensors that automatically activate when moving forward. Other year models that have the front parking sensors will only activate automatically if the car is placed in reverse. Otherwise, the dash button must be pressed manually. Perhaps if more posters would include their model and year in their sig, this could be confirmed.

I have a 2017 Q7 Prestige, U.S., manufactured in April 2016, and the front sensors do NOT work automatically. I must engage them by pressing the "P" button. I am stunned it does not work automatically. Not sure why it works automatically in the video above, but I'd sure like to know if I'm missing some setting.

Hmmm. This is interesting. I have a 2017 MKll Q7 built March 16 and I have never had it come on automatically. Granted , I usually push the button when going into the garage. I will test tonight with my wife watching (not taking a chance getting too close with no visual :-)

I had to program it myself in my April 2016 A4, it's possible but requires a VCDS (or similar) cable that is compatible with the new Q7/A4. sw 692 indicates a newer base configuration than what I have (sw0443), so it's possible that Audi changed its mind and enables this by default now.
