Front Window Tinting

My 2018 Q7 Prestige arrives tomorrow and it's been suggested that I tint the front windows to match the tinting on the rear windows. I was hoping Q7 owners could weigh in on the pros and cons, and any insights they might have on the topic. Thanks for your input!

Most people seem to put 35% in front. I plan on doing the pano roof to help with UV heat. I actually need to do a little research on this. You need to check state laws on tinting as it varies.

I had 50% tint film put on the front door windows which is not quite as dark as what came on the rear windows. Also added a visor strip across the windshield which hides my radar detector, I-pass and Sun Pass.

I had my front windows tinted to match the other windows. I can't stand a vehicle without tinted windows.

I had mine tinted as well. Don't remember the %. It was the maximum the state laws allowed; and it wasn't as much as the rear windows

I agree with the others that commented positively about the tint. Reduces heat inside on sunny days, looks good, and as long as your laws allow it, its worth it.https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...c3cb629078.jpg

What brand matches? 3M, Huper?

Mine is 3M and is perfect, also had heat reducing film on the windshield.

20% on front windows, 35% on rear, 20% on back and 50% on windshield.

The rear tint amount is illegal in many states. So if you live in one you might want to go a little lighter or call attention to the fact that they are tinted. I had mine done almost a year ago and did the windshield, front side windows and the sunroof. As I recall the tint is one factor but not the only one. I had a Ceramic film installed and it made a huge difference. Brand is important but the installer & warranty from a good shop is more important, IMO. Mine is slightly lighter in front.
