Heated steering wheel

The new Q7 is the first vehicle with a heated steering wheel that I've ever owned, and somehow I've been able to survive all these years without one here in Minnesota. Wearing gloves really helped!

I always thought the heated steering wheel was kind of a joke. Who really needs it.
I am in a loaner now and it does not have a heated steering wheel. OMG. Looks like I was wrong. I miss my heated wheel so bad right now with Chicago just coming off of a week of below -10...

Always thought I didn't need one, then we got our first heated wheel back in 2004 or 2005 and there is nothing like it.. My wife usually doesn't care about options in a vehicle except for a heated seats, wheel and sunroof.. In that order..

My wife normally drives the Q7 and the XC90 is my personal car. I like the interior and exterior of my XC90 more than the Q7. The Audi is very nice though and I like it a lot. I've also noticed the Audi is substantially quicker (my wife has a lead foot I need to put her in a 2.0) and virtual cockpit makes Volvo's digital cluster look rudimentary. Also MMI is way easier to use than a touchscreen when driving. I've resorted to using voice commands to change the temp and fan speed while driving. I've heard that the third row is better in the Volvo, but neither third rows have been touched in either car. Again I think the Volvo's boot space looks bigger but we've never filled either boots to their capacity. The 2nd rows in each vehicle are very large compared to the first gen version of each which was a welcomed addition. Personally, I don't like the seat in the Audi, I have back problems and they just feel hard. Also the 3.0 engine in the Audi is smoother and much better sounding than Volvo's 2.0. We love both cars and one of my neighbors down the street walked up to us one day and told us we had the coolest cars on the street.

The four cylinder in the Volvo would be a deal-killer for me.

I can understand that. For me, it's not a big deal, I don't really care about the sound of any SUV and reliability won't be my problem since I don't plan on keeping the car for more than 4 years. All I really care about is adequate power and the XC90 provides good power off the line.
