Default Heater in the winter

Hello guys, I know that there is no remote starter so the salesman is saying that the heat in winter start working right away and don't need to wait for the engine to warm up. Is that true? Q7 Premium Plus

Thanks

Bell, some of the vehicles are fitted with a supplemental (electric grid) heater. It's typically found on the diesels and the smaller displacement engines. Our Q5 has it and you do get heat almost instantly on cold days. Our car has a setting in the MMI for it: AUTO or OFF

How do I check if the Q7 that I'm about to get has it?

What country are you writing from?

What engine is the vehicle fitted with?

What make, model and year of the vehicle?

In the past, the "auxiliary heater" was only fitted to the Flex fuel, diesel and 2.0T engines. The powerful V6 didn't have it. It is referenced in the 2019 Owner's Manual but with a footnote to diesel (only).

To be absolutely certain, one could scan the controller modules to see the controller is present using the VCDS tool. (And it should show up in the MMI system, as I noted above, if present.)

It appears the vehicles have the residual heat option, similar to Mercedes "REST" function, which permits you to heat the vehicle with the engine turned off.

Where does it appear that way?

Mine takes a few minutes to warm up. I live in NC, it doesn't get that cold, not sure how it handles real cold as I've only exposed my Q to it a few times up north. I think your salesman is full of it.
