Thanks Rick! I'll grab the USB adapter and give it a try, I remember these should also be helpful in public charging stations, or the new street corner LinkNYC spots that replaced public pay phones in NYC.

Related question- does the USB connector actually charge the phone or only transfer data? Or both?

Thanks! So the advantage of a wireless charger would be not having to plug it in?

Absolutely! Also, I am not interested in using either Apple Play or the Android thing. The GPS, etc in the MMI work just great fro me.

Regarding the Apple Play etc. If you don't activate it in the MMI, then you don't need to worry about them taking over when you do plug into the USB slots in the console.

I prefer Google Maps when I need navigation. For quick glance at traffic I don't need AA, but for directions, you really can't beat Google Maps.
