High Rev Metallic Rattle/Shudder
Okay, so if I push the car to the redline by accelerating hard, upon the upshift to the next gear, I get a metal-sounding vibrating rattle that sounds like it might be coming from the rear of my car. It happens exactly at the upshift (where the tach goes back down below redline).
I cannot help but wonder if there's some metal piece that had some binding strap fall off and now it rattles. (There may be no such thing in existence, but this is how my non-mechanical mind thinks of it.)
I don't make it a habit of driving the car hard, but there are times when I have to accelerate hard to get into traffic -- particularly when I am going to work. Otherwise, I'd never get into the flow of traffic.
Any thoughts of what might be making this vibrating noise?

It's the shift "fart". With the quick shifts of the ZF 8-speed on hard or full acceleration, it'll give off a "fart" when shifting to the next gear. You'll find videos on YouTube. Very similar to "DSG fart".

I am experiencing a similar noise as you describe but I think it's the supercharger pulley. At first I thought it was coming from the rear or the transmission but after listening more closely it is coming from the engine bay.

Well, this sucks. Is there anything that can be done short of never accelerating hard?
