How do I install the map update via the SD card?
For starters where do I even get the map update? Its not at myaudi.com as described in the manual. I found something on another computer (installed the Java) and downloaded it, but alas after copying it to SD card, when I got to install from SD card in the MMI its greyed out, which suggests to me, I either missed a file or put it in a directory structure it doesn't like.
Any clues would be appreciated.

Update, I got it to work, after I redownloaded (may or may not have had a corrupt file originally, looks like there are 2 files and 2 directories)
They just need to be in the root directory of the SD card, I had them in a subdirectory originally, oddly once I did this it was unable to recognize my music. After the install I deleted the files and the music was recognized again.

Very straight forward and simple process. As first 5 map updates are for free, don't miss this.
1. Register to myAudi.com, add your car there by entering VIN.
2. Download map updates to SD card (for whole Europe, 32gb SD card is needed).
3. Install it to your car. Installation is performed in the background, even when car is switched off.

16.2 Gb of full EU maps version 2017/2018 installed.
In fact, map was not fully installed when I started the car in the evening. It seems, that it stopped installing after 10-15min I left the car. When I started to drive home, it resumed installation and finished in 10 min.
So it is not Tesla with big battery, that install updates during the night. Audi shuts down all the systems after you leave the car.
