Default How long is break in period?

I seems have oil consumption issue from 1800 mile on 3.0T.
It's already as low as 1/3 on the meter.
But I see many post said it will become normal after break in period.
Does anyone know how long is the break in period? 1800 mile is not enough?
Thanks.

Its my understanding that break in is done before the car leaves the factory.

If you say so, why the manual says the break in period should not drive more than 1/3 RPM in 600 mile?

Good question. They leave the assembly line and go on a 10 minute dyno run at full speed. After that they go high speed on a test track mimicking various conditions. After all that why would it be necessary to limit RPM for 600 miles? An automotive engineer would give the best answer.

If all you say above is true then how can they arrive at the dealer with less than 10 miles on the odometer?
