Were there a lot of known 1st year defects on 17 Q7?

If I'm not mistaken, the MY 17 ran for over 1.5 years in the US, so not all MY17's will have the same early build issues. They correct these as issues become known.

Default 6% off

I'm in the Seattle area and I got 6% off pretty easy on a custom order 2018 Q7 Prestige.

Of course I was first told if I wanted a prestige I'd have to pay full price.
I said I'd just do European Delivery for 5% off. He asked if I would buy if he matched that. I said that would be the minimum.
Went back to talk to a "manager" and said he could match the 5% off. I said I that is not enough to sign today and then he offered 6% off and I took it.

I figure I could have gotten 7% off but I was happy with this deal. I intend to trade in a q5 when my q7 arrives so I'm interested in how that negotiation goes.

Thanks for all the great info on the forum! Very helpful.

Southern California:

On lot, not ordered

2018 Prestige Q7, Ink Blue, Grey, DAP, Cold Weather, Towing, and some other misc accessories like Audi Rings and Cables.

MSRP: $71,035
Price Paid: $65,000
Discount (including $500 Audi Loyalty Bonus): $6,035 (8.5% off)
Discount (excluding $500 Audi Loyalty Bonus): $5,535 (7.8% off)

Negotiation over email very quick, and a NorCal dealer (where I live) offered me 6k off a prestige quickly but had nothing close to what I wanted, makes me think there may have been more room for negotiation, perhaps another $500 - $1000, but it seemed a fair price given what I've read on here.

Cold weather package in SoCal...no wonder they wanted to get rid of it.

Waited a couple of months to find the car I would of had ordered, if I put in a custom order. Got a 18 Q7 Prestige for $6500 off MSRP of $70000. Bit more than 9% off.

No, Carlsbad and San Diego didn't want to deal. Basically, both pretty much offered me invoice + $2.2k. Would of loved to of bought local especially Carlsbad since I live there. Also, I was specifically looking at an Prestige with only 20" wheels which none had anyway with very minimal options/packages installed. Mine was basically, Prestige, DAP, Towing and USB cable, and cargo cover. Have no use for the cables and who the hell charges $120 for 2.

3.7% off ours. Tried starting a battle between three dealerships for the best price, bungled it up, and just took it from the dealership that had the car on the lot.

Not a lot of adaptive chassis and luxury packages in Chicago.
