I tried today with an Ipod 6th Gen and 1st gen Ipod Min and it worked. At least I can confirm the BS about "no car play devices" my dealer told me.
Its weird I could not make it work with my Nano 7th Gen but I have somewhere a Nano 6th Gen so I will try that one before buying a new Ipod.

Will a new ipod touch work with Audi A7
I have had the same problem with my ipod classic and ipod nano with my new 2019 A7.. the MMI says that device is not recognized
I am willing to purchase a new ipod touch if I know it will connect with the USB port
I too like to leave an ipod in the car
Does anyone know if the new ipod touch will work with the USB cords in this A7

It should. I’m using 6th generation Touch(s) in my Q8 & TTS with no problems. Used them in my 17 Q7, 17 A4, & 18 Q5 also.
