No error codes. Definitely brighter than the original and more of a white light compared to the yellowish tone of the original (noticeable with one replaced and one original). Initial test post-instal did not have any error codes pop up for me (2018 Q7 Prestige).

Tip: After loosening the screw (does not remove fully), the taillight assembly did not seem like it wanted to budge easily. I banged on the bumper adjacent to and all the way around the lamp assembly with my fist. That loosened it up and it came out easily. There is a hook at the far end that tabs into the car, but it naturally swings out from the center of the bumper area towards the corner, releasing the hook.
I checked the amazon link and it says it doesn‘t fit on 2019 Q7. Did you ignore the notification and install them, yet they anyway successfully got installed?
Thanks!

That is interesting. I looked at the item again and noticed that I incorrectly had 2017 Q7 picked, and it states that the item will fit. Changed it to 2018 (which is my Q7's year) and it says it doesn't fit. Same with 2019.... But as far as I know there were no changes between those years, right?!? That said, there have been software changes and other really subtle changes, especially between 2018 and 2019, but considering it was wrong about the 2018 not working, hopefully that is true about 2019. And yes, I did instal them, and they are still working very nicely.
I was looking for the return policy on that item and do not see it...perhaps see if you can find out what it is just in case.

That is indeed interesting. I checked with 2018 and 2019, but not 2017. and yes.. I think they are basically same. I think I will just give a shot and if not working, I can just make a refund with a prime, because I don’t want to spend another 50 on reverse lights.. Thanks for verifying your case. Appreciate it lots!

Default LED reverse lights on 2018 Q7

I installed these reverse lights today. A significant difference in color and brightness. Frankly it’s a little expensive for what they are but I’m glad to have LED bulbs that don’t throw codes either

Thank you for your honest feedback. It does cost more to have the ONLY error free LED on the market that is actually many times even brighter than the other LEDs that trigger errors. We know at the end something you use everyday and will help you see and have others see you better will be worth the price.

Thank you

Default There Is Another Way To Add LED Reverse Lights

I added two Kafeek LED's (the head of the bulb is about 2 CM in diameter) to the back of my 2018 Q7 as even with after market LED reverse bulbs installed the light output was still lacking. The lights are attached near the bottom of the bumper with adhesive tape and the wires are attached to the reverse light bulb holders. After attaching the lights to the bumper, I pulled the tail/brake/reverse light assembly. Then I threaded the wire from the lights up into the bumper area, pulled the reverse bulb, jam fit the wires onto the bulb holder (the positive wire is attached to the tab that will be at the bottom of the light assembly), put the bulb back into the light assembly, and reinstalled the light assembly. It took about 10-15 minutes per side. Here are some photos of what I added and the extra light available.

Here are some additional photos of the install. Routeing the wire from the light to the tail/brake/reverse light assembly is the simplest part of the job. Once you remove the tail/brake/reverse light assembly from the vehicle it becomes self evident.

Use a flashlight to see the screw you need to undo. The screw is "captured" in the assembly so it will not drop it. Use a T20 wrench.

No offence, they are still expensive for what they are. Isn't error-free operation achieved simply by adding an appropriately-sized resistor to imitate the presence of incandescent bulb? And then - because of penny-chip addition - the item is sold as some sort of smart device?

It is fine to disagree. I just know many would agree for what these provide it is worth even more than the current price. This is something that is safer and you use daily. It is brighter so you will see more and others will more easily see these LEDs shining.
