Just FYI. 10.6GB

So I understand we get a few of these for free. How does one go about updating their maps?

What is the most up to date version. I picked up a new Q7 last week and wanting to see if my dealer had it installed

I'd be interested in knowing too. I got my 2018 in September.

there are more detailed threads about is. You must have JAVA installed on your computer. Go to your "myaudi" account and choose "audiconnect services" at the bottom. Scroll across until, you see map updates. Scroll down to select the complete or regional package. Click "prepare file" and then open the file when prompted. Choose your SD card drive as the target. It will then download. You need a fairly large SD card -16GB or more. I use a blank card every time.

Latest version is "2018". Previous version was "2017/2018"

As it was noted in other threads, maps update can be also done using car network connection through the MMI maps updates menu. My impression is that downloading directly takes about the same time as downloading from an SD card...

This is assuming one has an active AudiConnect account, right?

I think this only updates your region.
