Default Running boards/step bars for 2017 Q7

Hi all. Just recently got a 2017 Glacier White Metallic Q7 for the wife. We've primarily been a Japanese-car family. Wife had a Honda Pilot, Lexus GX, and now an Audi Q7. I've had a Lexus SC400, GS430, and now a Mitsubishi Evo X. Btw, I test drove an A7 and fell in love. That might be my next car once I get sick of the Evo.

We are new to the Audi family (this is our first Audi). I know that it's relatively new, so I was hoping if the experts here could shed some light on what step bars or running boards would fit on this model. I've searched here and a few other forums, and even googled the search but everything comes up with 2016 and older. My wife is pretty small, so she was asking if a step bar/running board was available. Thanks ahead of time for any inputs.

Hi, there some official Audi running boards -- they are featured in this accessory brochure: https://www.audi.co.uk/content/dam/a...ries-guide.pdf

Thanks for the link. It looks like it's a UK-based catalog though. I don't see it in the Accessories section at the Audi USA site. Oh well, I guess I will have to wait a bit as companies start to develop their own products for this.

In the UK the ones from Audi cannot be used in conjunction with the all wheel steering option.

@jmb7 Do you have any idea's as to why the Audi Ones can't be used in the UK for all wheel steering but non standard ones can, presumably it will have warranty implications too as the style pack that will be released soon won't apparently allow to pick the ''Running boards' if you have chosen all wheel steering, Possibly down to aerodynamics etc?

Has anyone installed running boards on their new Q7 in the US? If so, what did you choose.

I can't imagine anyone needing running boards on the new Q7. The new Q7 is so much lower than our old Q7, and our kids had no problem climbing in and out back then at age 5. I just had an LR4 loaner and our entire family thought the running boards were so annoying. You bash your shins on them getting in and you get your pants and legs dirty when you rub on them on your way out. The only possible benefit may be standing on them to reach into a roof box.

We ended up getting some Romik Ral running boards since they were the only ones that were listed as compatible for the 2017 at the time.
