Default My new Airstream hauler!

After 10 years of driving 2 different pick up trucks, I wanted something that was easy to park. Of course, it still had to tow!
I found this Florett Silver metallic, Titanium Black optic, active chassis, cold weather, tow package equipped 2019 Prestige model and brought it home!
Trying to get some mileage on it so we can go camping!

Is that a weight distributing hitch? Audi specifically says NOT to use a WDH. Since you have air suspension, you won't need it from a squat standpoint, and I find that my front end doesn't feel too light even with a maxed out tongue weight while towing (though I am using the shorter Audi ball mount which would provide less of a lever arm). I just use a sway bar and stopped using my WDH.
Aside from the full trailer weight, do you know your tongue weight?

It is but I can dial out any weight distribution with the jacks.
It is also one of the best anti sway hitches made.

Very nice and the package looks great.

Are there trailer brakes?, like a control unit on your dash?

i'm more impressed with the Airstream than the Q7 maybe cause I have a Q7 and only dream of an Airstream...

Can you share more about the trailer? Model, etc?

Ii installed a REDARC Tow Pro Elite controller. The car was wired and it just needed a connector harness.
what I like about the REDARC unit is that the only thing you see is a small dial/button. The controller itself is hidden underneath the kick panel.

It is a 2012 Airstream International Serenity 16’. When we purchased it in 2012, it was the last one available on the east coast. Airstream took the model out of production until just a few weeks ago when they re introduced another 16’ with the signature wrap around rear windows. The new model is called the Caravel.

We have towed ours something like 60,000 plus miles including a 3 month trip around the country. It is a blast!

Both look great.
I used to use a WDH on our trailer before Q7 but there are some truth to the manual saying NOT to use a WDH. It appears the way the hitch is mounted to the vehicle it can fail dangerously with a WDH.
There is someone here who has experienced that.
I have towed our trailer with Q7 without WDH and it tows great! never felt I needed it. The back (not having air suspentions) sags a bit but not a lot.
