Default My real Audi rings next to fake Audi rings puddle light.

My Q7 didn't come with any, and I paid $14 for four of them on eBay. My A4 came with real Audi rings lights, and they were $250 for two. In the dark they are both pretty good. The Audi ones work a bunch better when the light level is higher. Still, I would never purposely pay $250 for them. They came with the car though.

Thanks for the real world side-by-side comparison! Nevertheless, I totally agree that the $14 puddle lights do the job almost equally well. Audi should start making these standard on the Q7s.

Thanks for sharing it!

Does your light fit the socket perfectly? or do you need to cut the light housing corners in order to fit it?
Would you mind sharing the ebay link for your light? Thanks so much!

They won’t do it for free...more stuff on a base car equals higher base price.

I'm guessing the pic on the right is the OEM. If so, then the OEMs are way way better than the fakes. Sorry, I'm not trying to dis anyone here but the choice is clear between the two.

I bought mine for the dark and not the daylight. Sure, the OEMs are brighter - but not $250 to $14 brighter. At least not for me...

I am sure these work just fine. I am referring to the clear difference in light color and hue, the sharp versus dull edges, and sheer intensity of the light (if its sharp and bright in daylight, I am sure the impact is even more pronounced in the dark). Look, had I not found a way to get the OEMs from Germany, I would have bought something from ebay also. But I am actually glad I got the OEMs because I always notice about how sharp and bright the rings are in any light, on my Q. And at night they are real eye catchers.
So the point based on this comparison is that I'd advise people to get the OEM rings, but if you really want to save $150 or so, get the replicas. But these do not look as good...
