I have a question that I was hoping you guys can shed some of your wisdom on. I just traded in my 2015 BMW 428i Grand Coupe for a 2018 Premium+ Q7, so here's my question

I had GAP insurance purchased from the dealer on the BMW (I know, I know, bad decision---it gets worse) that I obviously didn't use to its full extent since the loan was paid off early. For the life of me I can't find my original GAP insurance documents, so here's the question: who would have this information available? Is this something that I can go to my BMW dealer and ask for? I'm trying to recoup the unused portion of the GAP insurance I purchased.

Call up the dealership you bought the car from and talk to someone in finance. They should be able to pull up your deal and get you the info.

The dealer that sold you the car will have that info, or your insurance company or finance company may have it too

GAP insurance from the dealer is separate from your normal car insurance. From what I recall, the dealer GAP insurance is absurdly high compared to a few extra dollars a month through my insurer.
