Default Q7 Recall "Head Injury Risk"

Hi,

Has anyone taken their Q7 in to rectify this recall: https://www.consumerreports.org/car-...d-injury-risk/

If so, my question is how long did it take? Can you wait it out or is this an overnight thing. I'm not thrilled about getting a loaner or huffing a ride back home (for obvious reasons) so would rather just find a quiet corner in the deserted dealership and wait it out if I can. Thanks in advance for any info.

I wouldn't waste my time. Looks like a minor detail, despite the headline-grabbing description.

Normally I wouldn't; however:

1. CA won't let you renew your car unless you've taken care of recalls like these (ask me how I know!)
2. I'm looking to sell the car/trade it in and while trading it in, I wouldn't care, if I do decide to sell it private party, I do want to take care of the recall.

CA does refuse renewals if there are any recalls that remotely affect emissions. But, are you sure that also applies to something as trivial as this?

I took my car to the dealership for this recall. It took only 45 minutes to do the work.

In and out at my dealer. Easy-peasy.

Dropped off at 8:30am and was called 3:30pm that it was ready. Also performed 40k Audi service schedule. I was told the recall fix was 2.5 hrs max, but dealership is extremely limiting the number of "waiting" service appointments, so I dropped, ran, and returned.

I am not sure at all, but given I had this experience with them refusing to renew my wife's Q5 until the airbag recall was fixed. And given that if this happens, they require you to show up in person to provide the proof, something I'm loathe to do even in the most normal of circumstances, I'd rather just get it done.
