ODB11 - worth it?

I see a lot of people talk about changing settings with OBD11 (sp?). I'd always thought this was read only diagnostics. Interested in perspectives. how it works? what to get? is it worth it?

I am new to OBDeleven however it is pretty cool. I have always just used VAG Com for coding. So if it is worth it or not will be up to you. Unit costs about $75 bucks and you can disable seat belt chime, disable auto start stop function, enable video in motion etc. They do have "apps" that cost credits which enables you to makes changes with a push of a button on your phone, (android only i believe). The credits do cost money, 500 credits is $33 bucks however you can get 6 free credits a day by logging on to the app.

If you're careful & basically know what you're doing - you can accomplish most mods without having to use credits - totally free.
(& OBDEleven is only Android 4.1or higher)

Do they have an app to enable the lane assist, automated high beams, traffic sign recognition, etc for those of us without DAP?

For you OBDEleven experts, any chance of having the warranty voided if you have an issue that the dealer can tie to something you did while playing around with coding?

Most of those require actual hardware (sensors, cameras and radars).
