Default Order timeline for 2019 Q7s

Out of curiosity, how long does it usually take for an order to go in to "Factory order bank"? This is in northwest US.

If your dealership has an allocation, likely a few weeks at most (ie when the factory accepts the order) once that happens I think its about 4 months to get the car, if you're really lucky you could get it in 2.5 months but it could be 6-8 months as well depending on options selected (certain options/colors even I believe they've had supply chain issues with or perhaps they just build them with less frequency).

This info was rule of thumb true for the 2017 models, I suspect its about the same now for the 2019.

We bought ours off the lot but we did look into custom building one in November of 2017. We were told April at the time and this is in a Chicagoland dealer, all of which are "busy" and likely have many allocations to begin with.

There were some on the way that were due in January but they were not the colors we liked, so obviously the dealership manager also gets a few built based on the market of the neighborhood. In our area, the cold weather package was a given and not a whole lot of Black Optic packages.

Mine took exactly 3 months from order to delivery. I do know for a fact though that it would have been closer to 5 or even 6 if I would have opted for the BOP.

Hopefully mine doesn't go until April, if it really delays until May/June then it would be another 4-5 months wait for FY20 models. Although I am still not sure if I like the placement of screens in FY20 (I like screens that are at the eye level like the current Q7, BMW x5 etc). Wait and see game I guess

I custom-ordered a 2019 in late July and it arrived at the dealership in Florida on October 26th, which was right on target with their original delivery estimate.

I just got an update on my car and it is appearently scheduled for mid April, that's about 6 month order time which is unfortunate.

Wtf? Back in late 2016 it was taking 3-4 months. Why is it taking longer today?

It took 5 weeks just to go in to factory order bank and then build week is still like 4 months out. not sure if it is a particular issue in general with this dealer or all Audi orders.
