I've found I can modulate the pressure on the brake to keep the engine running if I know I'll be off in running in a few seconds.

The way the vehicle stops while still rolling to a stop is horrible. It's becoming a habit to hit that button.

Too bad a couple of people here are having issues. In my BMW the following rules will apply to over ride the Start/Stop in case you need to do that on a one-time basis:

1) After you come to a complete stop, give the brake pedal a nice pump to prevent the car from stopping
2) The wheel is turned in prep for a turn
3) A gentle pull to the steering wheel starts the car
4) Tranny in sport mode turns off start stop feature
5) Outside temp conditions can turn off the S/S feature
6) Inside cabin temp, if not optimal can turn off the S/S feature
7) Vehicle operating conditions can turn off S/S temporarily if needed

I am sure the Audi is similar right? (Sorry, dont have an owners manual yet)

Pretty much the same apart from 3 - I haven't noticed that turning the wheel starts the engine. On mine, with the power steering off as well, the wheel almost feels locked.

I have a wired dashcam with parking mode and if I've not driven much, battery drain will also prevent the start / stop.

Attempting to move the steering wheel will restart the engine (at least on US models).

I'll have to try that tomorrow. I probably haven't applied enough pressure!

I've also noticed that braking pressure plays a role in the auto stop/start. It's been too cold lately for it to kick in, but if you can come to a complete stop without pressing the brake too hard, the engine stays on. If you depress the brake the rest of the way after stopping, the auto stop engages.

That's definitely not the case...it shuts of right as I'm stopping in most cases, not "after a defined period of time"
