Cool! Not surprised about the Diesel... Thanks for the link! Hopefully we'll get an update on that soon... Really hoping to get confirmation on the SQ7 with the Diesel, but that might be tougher given the current situation with the EPA now...

Premium Plus $54,800 -> $58,800 +7.3%

Yeah, I'm rather shocked by the increase in the light of all the competition in this segment now. Not sure this is their best strategy given the overall exterior design and diesel gate issues that are present. I'm on the fence between the Q7 and the XC90 and this price is not helping.
I also checked out the build tool on the Audi Site. Man the exterior colors SUCK. Hate the walnut inlays as well. Seems like Audi is really botching this up big time.

Yeah I would agree on the surface, but there are loads of new/standard features I think that justify it. Of course, i haven't seen the optional pricing either so there is always that. LOL
Sorry - Just checked the website, see they have the configuration out there now with options....

I was on the wait list to order a new Q7 but have cancelled it as of this morning. I was already on the fence about the appearance and had an agreement to decline delivery once the vehicle arrived, but with the price increase and the lack of an s-line variant/appearance package killed it for me. Additionally and likely a result of the delayed pricing announcement (gave me time to stew on it), I finally let my rational side win in that I don't buy first model year runs. With this being an entirely new platform I am just very apprehensive about making the leap.

I just did comparative builds..... Not exact science I know.. but close enough...
Like optioned Premium Plus TFSI was 5.5% more
Like optioned Prestige TFSI was 1% more
But Audi only lets you option things certain ways so it's not exact....
But loads more standard options still make it comparable I think. I'm disappointed in the lack of colors. My two favorites are gone.
I've got an order as well, and am waiting for the dealer to confirm some things later this month and then I'll decide. I'm really holding out for the SQ7 TDI.. if we can confirm that... I won't be getting this one...
Who knows about the TDI issue though and how that will effect the deliveries...

Agree on your comparison. I configured a 2015 Prestige as I would have ordered it and vs the 2017 Prestige pricing it is only slightly more expensive, but in the 2015 price I had adaptive suspension and appearance tweaks. If I attempt to normalize (guessing at what a s line would cost) for this the 2017 would be over $70k and would represent a $4k+ increase.

But some of you are failing to realize a few key things.
The old 2015 Premium Plus models had 272 hp. You had to go sline Prestige to get the 333hp motor. Now all 3.0 Q7's are the same and even the Plus models have 333hp. So it's not a fair comparison.
You can get a 2017 3.0T Premium Plus with warm weather (includes vent seats now), 3D bose and 20's, that has the same equiptment as the old Prestige 2015 model had for less money. So the 2017 is actually a better deal. A Plus '17 Q7 with a few options is esentially the same as the old 15 prestige.
The new 2.0T is intened to replace the old V6 272 Premium Plus Q7's. With 500lbs less weight and 252hp/273 torque, the 17 2.0T Q7 will be quicker and better than a 15 Premium Plus Q7.
So really, there is no price increase for the 17 Q7. Anyway you slice it, it's a better car for less money. The 2015 Q7 has ancient technology compared to the new one.

Yes the 2017 has more goodies, but I'd expect it to. The previous gen had to be a cash cow given how long in the tooth it was. In any event a giant leap forward was a given/needed to stay competitive. As technology progresses it gets cheaper (in theory) and therefore improving a product's offering doesn't necessarily mean increased costs.
