Q5 vs Q7
I am wondering if anyone here drove both vehicles and what made you go with Q7 over Q5?
Other than 3rd row, I am having hard time seeing why anyone would want the Q7 if they don't regularly need the add'l space (cargo or otherwise).
Is there something I am not seeing? Perhaps certain features not available on Q5?
Same engine, lighter weight, smaller and more agile body, possibly a lot quicker?

i don't have the 'need for speed' anymore - certainly not in my daily stop and go traffic. I could have gotten an SQ5 AND saved a lot of money but I preferred the bigger vehicle - although I'm single...

My wife did not like the sport seats in the SQ5, and she refuses to drive a 4-cylinder, no matter how much turbo goodness it's got.
Plus the Q7 is just flat-out roomier and better appointed. We will never use the third row, and in fact put a weathertech cargo liner over it.

You can ask the same question about A4 vs Q5.
Q7 obviously has more space and is more comfortable to sit in and drive. If you have a family the additional space just makes things easier. I’ve never been a fan of squeezing myself and things into a small vehicle. As far as speed the Q7 is more than adequate. Why the need to get to the red light faster then the car next to you?
