Default Q7 Extended Warranty - Fidelity or Audi? Where to get best price?

Am running out of time to buy extended warranty for my Q7 2018 Prestige as I near 10K miles

I've used Troy at FD-Warranty before and checked with him again and he gave me prices on the Audi one and Fidelity (which used to be the Audi). The fidelity one is quite a bit cheaper and he says it basically the same for the Platinum. I want the Platinum because I'm convinced the most likely thing to go wrong with this car is all the electronics.

My questions are?

1) Any perspective on the Audi Branded (SafeGuard) vs. Fidelity?
2) Prices are below. They seem reasonable and quite a bit less than dealer quoted?
3) I'm inclined to go with Troy since he was easy to work with last time, but if anyone got way better than this, let me know.

Audi Pure Protection, Platinum w/ $250 deductible:
7 yr / 70K - $2265.00
7 yr / 100K - $3255.00
7 yr / 120K - $3475.00
8 yr / 80K - $2770.00
8 yr / 100K - $3500.00
8 yr / 120K - $3750.00
10 yr / 100K - $3560.00
10 yr / 120K - $3895.00

Fidelity Platinum w/ $250 deductible:
7 yr / 70K - $1813.00
7 yr / 100K - $2634.00
7 yr / 120K - $2893.00
8 yr / 80K - $2147.00
8 yr / 100K - $2879.00
8 yr / 120K - $3225.00
10 yr / 100K - $2989.00
10 yr / 120K – n/a

Audi Pure Protection, Platinum:
8 yr / 100K / $250 ded. - $3500.00
8 yr / 100K / $100 ded. - $4370.00
8 yr / 100K / $0 ded. - $4480.00

Fidelity Platinum:

8 yr / 100K / $100 ded. - $3442.00
8 yr / 100K / $0 ded. - $4355.00

Hi, I am thinking to get Audi pure protection too and my mileage is about 5k now.
It seems audi protection doesn't matter what your mileage is because it still start from the day of purchase.
If you buy audi protection from 9k for 10yr/100k and your coverage is still up to 100k , not 109k.
And I think your quote for 10 yr/ 100k seems a fair deal for $3560.
Can anyone give any feedback on this price or the repair cost after warranty?
I think any audi repair cost would be easily more than $3000 if without warranty, isn't it?

Yeah it's pretty bad, but this is the sort of service that's likely to get bad reviews. If everything goes fine, you're not likely to write a review.

That said, is there a difference now that Fidelity is not the Audi branded coverage. A lot of the comments talk about claiming money back, and any time I've used a branded factory warranty, they just pay direct, and I just pay the deductible.

Are you sure you have to purchase it within the first year or 10K miles of ownership?

Quote from FD-warranty site on Audi Pure Protection Program:
NOTE: I can only offer the genuine Audi Pure Protection plans if your vehicle has at least 1 year AND 10,000 miles of coverage remaining on it's original 4 yr / 50,000 mile factory warranty. For vehicles beyond that, I can offer the Fidelity plan...which is the same exact plan as the Audi Pure Protection plan from last year (2016), just without the Audi name/logo on it.

The way I read that comment is that you have until year 3 or 40K miles to purchase the genuine Audi Pure Protection plan option.

I believe that it costs more after 10k.

Safe Guard Products International is the administrator for audi protection now. Is this company better than fidelity?

BTW, can anyone be kind of providing experience of extended warranty?
How does it work? Does car owners file claim themselves?
Or you just pay the deductible if any and the dealer will file the claim to audi?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

When I got mine (2017 Q7), I got the quote from Troy, brought it to Audi dealership and they matched it. Quite a bit lower than their original quote. But that was when Fidelity was the official Audi coverage.

Default 8yrs/120 Platinum

Hello Gents,
I coughed up mine when I bought the car, not because of the "sweet" sales pressure, just wanted to get it out of the way. It seemed decent for such a tech laden car.
not worried about the mechanics, but overall protection. My 2014 SQ5 is fantastic @ 66k, with no issues whatsoever.
Cheers,
Bob
