I bought 8 yr/120k with $250 deductible for $3650 at the time I bought the car. I like the peace of mind knowing the max from me would be $250 per instance. Machines are hard to say. I bought a new Corolla years ago and after just two months, the AC went out and the dealer had to replace the whole AC system, for a Toyota! Since then I always bought extended warranty no matter what brand it is.

I have not researched their track record, but will.

Share what you find on them as well. I plan on getting the extended warranty mostly due to the electronics in the car. Maybe we should ask a larger Audi group about the extended warranty experience lately from Audi to get a better feel.

From my recent reading Safe Guard does not have many positive consumer reviews. This seems especially true with numerous consumer complaints about denied and excessively delayed actions while processing "GAP" claims. Tire and wheel insurance claims seem to be routinely denied. Extended warranty claims were paid in some instances but usually after a convoluted claim process with a great deal of consumer frustration. Check out the reviews through Google and Yelp among others. You would think that an insurance product sold at an Audi Dealership would provide confidence that your extended warranty would be handled with no problem, but, this may not be the case.
Some people even rated Fidelity as a higher quality of coverage, that is scary! Read the reviews and proceed with your final decision.

Let's be clear, insurance companies don't make their profits allowing every claim.

I do think if it's the branded coverage, Audi surely has some responsibility to stand behind it?

I'm with you on this about the electronics, that's the primary reason, especially if you have DAP and the Vision Package. It's close to state of the art and a lot of it has not been around for long.

FWIW - it looks like only the Platinum covers the electronics.

Not everyone makes a claim.........that's how they make money.
Denial of claims that are warranted would be the mark of a dishonest contract, whoever stands behind it.
Furthermore, forcing the claimant to 'jump through hoops' to satisfy a warranted claim is dishonest.

If that's the way they make their profits count me out!
I'll start a personal repair slush fund to take care of any future, unforeseen needs.
Spending $3K+ or MORE, UP FRONT, to insure the unknown is not something this luxury car owner would ever consider.
Read ALL of the fine print and exclusions before you fork over a pile of CASH for a future promise.

The Audi VSP can be cancelled after 30-days or transferred to new owner for $50. I believe they will refund a prorated amount at any point in the coverage contract if you cancel after 30 days.

I would take these prices and take it to an Audi dealer and see if they will match it.

I had an 2011 A3 Sportback CPO and ended up having a bad injection valve at 60k miles. It was $243 for the part and labor and $80 deductible at the time. That was the only issue I had on the A3 after the original warranty expired. I traded it in November 2014 for a new 2015 Q3 Prestige. I heard there is carbon build up in the direct injection engines and possible head and bottom gasket integrity issues once the build up is bad. Anyhow, I just got a quote from Troy at Fidelity and compared it to the price offered via my car broker and a Audi Finance manager he works with often. They essentially matched the Fidelity's prices.

From Troy @ Fidelity (and From Audi in parenthesis)
I can only sell the Audi branded plans online on vehicles that have at least 1 yr / 10K left on
the original factory warranty, so these would be for the regular Fidelity plans without the Audi
name & logo on them. And the vehicle has to be within the original 4 yr / 50,000 mile factory
warranty to be eligible.

Vehicle: 2014 – 2018 Audi Q3 with 45,001 - 50,000 miles.

Fidelity Platinum w/ $250 ded.
1 yr / 12K - $1496.00
2 yr / 24K - $1928.00
3 yr / 36K - $2432.00
4 yr / 48K - $3156.00 - (From Audi VSP - $3160 or $3680 for $0 deductible)
5 yr / 60K - $3650.00

Keep in mind that time/mileage are from the current date and mileage, so
a 4 yr / 48K plan would cover you until 98,000 total miles if you’re at 50K now.

I've used Troy at FD-Warranty before and checked with him again and he gave me prices on the Audi one and Fidelity (which used to be the Audi). The fidelity one is quite a bit cheaper and he says it basically the same for the Platinum. I want the Platinum because I'm convinced the most likely thing to go wrong with this car is all the electronics.

My questions are?

1) Any perspective on the Audi Branded (SafeGuard) vs. Fidelity?
2) Prices are below. They seem reasonable and quite a bit less than dealer quoted?
3) I'm inclined to go with Troy since he was easy to work with last time, but if anyone got way better than this, let me know.

Audi Pure Protection, Platinum w/ $250 deductible:
7 yr / 70K - $2265.00
7 yr / 100K - $3255.00

8 yr / 80K - $2770.00
8 yr / 100K - $3500.00
8 yr / 120K - $3750.00
10 yr / 100K - $3560.00
10 yr / 120K - $3895.00

Fidelity Platinum w/ $250 deductible:
7 yr / 70K - $1813.00
7 yr / 100K - $2634.00
7 yr / 120K - $2893.00
8 yr / 80K - $2147.00
8 yr / 100K - $2879.00
8 yr / 120K - $3225.00
10 yr / 100K - $2989.00
