I really hope I do not have to go through a cat and mouse game with the dealer where they tell me "cannot reproduce problem".
I may take the service adviser on a quick drive with me when it goes in for service so they acknowledge it.
yep the head liner. no pun intended. they felted the headliner the next day when backing out of the garage all the backup sensor were done for because they shorted a computer while working on the headliner. replaced the computer then they broke the sun visor clip and now above the rear drivers window a rattle 10X worse than the original problem. just dealership mistakes mostly by them that why they are paying to fix them. go thing its under warrantee and I'm a mechanic to filter the BS.

Gotcha. Hoping I have a smoother experience than yours. And hope they get it right for you as well.

The creaking has been driving me nuts. BUT....

Took the car on a long road trip to VT for some skiing over the long weekend and vented the sunroof and then closed it... and boom! Creaking disappeared.
Not sure if that is the magic fix, but it is holding up so far (2 days).

This is straight from my repair work order paperwork. Picked up the car last night and it seemed to subside but came back mid-way through my ride home. I have a feeling I will be back to address it again in the near future...

"ROAD TEST AND CONFIRMED NOISE COMING FROM DRIVERS SIDE HEADLINER, PUT HAND ON HEADLINER AND FOUND NOISE TO STOP, FOUND TSB 2044417/7, PERFORMED TSB AND REMOVE HEADLINER AND INSTALL FELT TAP TO CLIPS AND TRIM, REINSTALL ALL PARTS AND REROAD TEST AND IS AS TO AUDI STANDARDS"

New appointment next Monday. They will attempt the repair again.
If we have no luck after that they mentioned a full headliner replacement...
Will keep everyone updated.

I have an intermittent squeaking noise coming from my headliner that can only be heard when it is quiet in the car (radio off) at highway speeds. I haven't taken it in to be looked at, but probably should if there's a TSB, as mentioned above.

Cannot hurt to bring it in...
Mine rattles at lower speeds on city roads mainly.
At highway speeds on smooth pavement it disappears.

That's one of your 2nd row seats rattling. Put all the seat down, it will be gone. All my 3 seats in 2nd had this problem. Take it back to Audi, they will fix or wrap the interior spring or metal string for it.

All of my seats are folded down due to shuffling wheels/tires for my other vehicle. And the creak/rattle is still there... it's definitely coming from the headliner.

UPDATE: dealer said the "creak in the headliner" is not actually the headliner. said they adjusted the sunroof/frame and seemed to have figured it out. i hope to get the car back this week and will let everyone know.
in the meantime they are trying to replicate the pre-sense and side assist errors...
