I found it surprising that the acceleration of Q7 is better than Q8

This is interesting, the one I drove seemed faster, it just had poorer throttle response.

0-100km/h for Q7 is 5.7s and Q8 is 6.0s.

As far as the new x5 being dated, perhaps it’s different in person because everything in that cabin felt like you are in a vehicle of that cost. I think things really come into perspective when you are at a show as big as the LA Auto show and within minutes of each other you can compare across every competitor. The particular Q8 at the show felt so dull inside compared to where the industry is clearly going. I am sure with a different color interior it could be better (I know from first hand experience with my Q7 it can make a big difference.) Really, this is more about the $$ though. Nothing at all wrong with the Q8 in my eyes at a correct price, but to call it a flagship and make it a premium cost over comparable equipped Q7 and not do anything to set it’s interior apart other then the MMI set up is a disappointment. Audi could have easily stepped up and made things more interesting through materials design choices without spending any additional mfg costs.

They are saving all the interior love for Audi exclusive buyers

Hmm, I'm actually having the suspicion that the 2020 Q7 will be available with a full leather interior without going the exclusive option way.

I'm expecting that the Prestige will have a leather dash standard and that the luxury package will cover the rest.

Are both of these sourced from Audi, or car mags?

Page 8 shows 0-60 in 5.6 for the Q8.

Q7 is 5.7 0-60

Which in my opinion how they should have originally come. That's original flagship worthy

Glad the trusty Q7 is just as fast (at least to 60, but 0-100 mph might be a completely different story due to turbos doing better here)

Isn't the Q7 already available (for 2019) with a full leather interior via the Audi Design Selection, Murillo Brown $2500 package (dash and door tops in leather)?
