I had no idea what a fuel rail was, had to look it up: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/us...lish/fuel-rail

A fuel rail is high pressure tubing which takes fuel to the injectors in an internal combustion engine.
The fuel passes from the fuel rail into the injectors in metal fuel pipes.
Be very careful when you pull off the fuel rail from the top of the injectors, as although it is made out of metal, it easily bends or breaks.
The fuel rail is the long, round metal bar that runs along the top of the injectors and is held onto the manifold with a few bolts.
----

After reading this, will get it in to the dealer as soon as the parts are available.

Fuel Rails in blue and red. They sit on top of fuel injectors. Blue are for FSI injectors, Red are for MPI injectors. You will have to remove the plastic cover, and even then I'm not sure if fuel rail will be visible without removing the upper manifold.

Fuel rail recall is not a minor issue. Generally speaking physical problems with fuel rails are extremely rare as usually it's a single rather robust piece of aluminum. It's the connections between the fuel rail, the fuel supply and the injectors that can be in question, hence most likely the reason why the general issue has been identified but specific culprit and repair has not been issued yet.

Does the recall apply to all Q7's, or just specific years/engines?

Dohturdima and gsohol :Appreciate very much the description of the fuel rail. No way I would do anything but try and see is there is any leaking occurring. Guess I'll just hound the service manager where I bought the car.

The dealer fixed the fuel rail recall on my 2017 Q7, when I sent it yesterday for 30k service.

I have a 2018 build 3.0 and when I check for recalls it shows as there's none available. I will however call my dealer in the near future to confirm this.
