Default Repair help

I had a mishap few days back and the front right grill housing got damaged. Is it a DIY work? What is the part number?

You should be able to pull the grille out and the part number will be on it somewhere. Then go to ECS or one of the other OEM part suppliers.

I'm not so sure about just pulling the grill out. There is radar and parking sensors there, and you dont want to cause damage to those (which luckily have been spared). If you aren't too handy, take this to a body shop and they'll look up the part and charge you and hour or two of labor to install, which IMO will be worth it

Yeah, I think caution is in order here, Arien, so you don't end up breaking more stuff. You need to have the time, temperament and training to successfully do that repair work.

The problem is that once you remove the front bumper cover, then all the radar, ACC, city anti collision, camera stuff needs to be recalibrated, according to service manual. Whether or not that is 100 percent required not sure, but like the others said, there is lots of electrical stuff plugged in to consider. If it was off warranty I would have a DIY go, but obviously it's not...

My wife had a similar mishap bringing the car home from dealership (less than 20 miles on the car) some kid backed into her at a stoplight. disintegrated the silver strips a little more than on you and dislodged the cover to the radar. Anyway long story short - $5,000 bucks of work. new radar. They reused the parking sensor. Maybe they had to replace the bumper cover, I can't remember. Glad the dealer makes sure you have insurance before you take the car home.

Ink, that's a crazy story. I'm afraid that's why they are totaling out new cars that appear to have only minor damage.

Looks like an easy repair. I’d tackle it myself.
The hesitant posters are obviously not DIYers but if you’re handy that should be a relatively easy swap.

IDK there’s some damage to the paint and a small crack in the bumper cover-which could be ignored of course. The lower trim piece is also detached. The whole bumper cover will likely have to come off. Not a weekend job.
