Default Replace steering wheel with heated

Is this even possible? We purchased a 2018 Q7 Orca Black with Titanium Optics Package which we fell in love with. The problem was that it did not have the Cold Weather Package which includes heated steering wheel. Since we live in Texas, cold weather is welcome but when it is here, it's brutal (at least for my Wife). Our previous Q7 had heated steering wheel, which my wife loved. She now keeps making comments to me that she really wished the steering wheel was heated. If it is possible, what would it take? I'm sure there is some coding to do via OBDEleven but would it as simple as just purchasing a new steering wheel with heated option and replacing? I'm pretty mechanically inclined so I would do the work myself (at least try to).

Thanks
Ariel

Much easier and cheaper.

In all seriousness my wifes current car has a heated wheel and we live in NC. She enjoys it when we get cold weather so any new car should have it. You have to ask yourself if its even worth the time or money. Especially living in Texas. Get a remote start to help assist warming the car up (or cooling it down). I've also read the steering wheel doesnt do a great job heating on this car and people were trying to find how to code it to get hotter.

Thank you for the reply. I sometimes wonder if it is worth the money but when it comes to my wife, I do my best to make her happy since this is her daily driver. Since she had this feature in her 2011 Q7, she really misses it every winter. My question though has not been answered. I just want to know if it is possible, what parts would I need, and what it would take to get it working. I found a post in the A8 forum that says it is possible but they didn't go into detail.

Living here in Minnesota I got a got a good chuckle out of your post! My wife and I have owned roughly 20 vehicles over the years, but our current Q is the first one that came with a heated steering wheel! I must say that in this past winter's truly frigid temperatures that the heated steering wheel was most appreciated. This will be a must-have feature on any new vehicles we purchase.

I would guess that the connectors are there for a plug and play but you’ll need a whole new wheel with a heating element and on/off switch. Probably some coding as well knowing Audi.
