Default roof base carrier (roof rack)

Anyone using the OEM roof rack cross bar for 2017-2018 Q7? If yes, do you experience noise? I am planning to get a set for my Q7 but my experience with the Q5 cross bar was bad, the Q5 OEM was very noise so I took it down after three days. Any feedback is very appreciate.

Did a 5,000 mile trip with Audi X-bars, and while a bit noiser, not bad at all. With radio on, all well, but if you want to listen for it, you'll hear it. Q7 quietest car ever, better than my A6 I think, but could be down to tire age.

I've been using the OEM bars. Never notice the noise even with audio turned off. Read somewhere else saying these bars are made by Thule.

I just got a Q7 and added the base bars when I picked it up this past Saturday. I didn't notice any noise Saturday or Sunday driving it. I added my bike rack (Kuat Trios) to it Sunday, and noticed a little wind noise Monday. I assume the noise is coming from the rack. I made an adjustment to the bike rack mount yesterday and that seemed to help. I only heard the wind with the radio off and listening for it though.

Q7 at 10k miles
I have the base racks... drove without them on for a long time, then put them on for a trip to the hardware store. I have sensitive hearing, and the noise was not detectable EXCEPT when I open the roof... at which point, they do cause extra wind buffeting. Racks are visible in this photo I took today. Note: If you do get them, make sure that you TRIM and install the top rubber. When you get the racks, the rubber protection is NOT installed, and if you don't trim some off each end, then the caps don't fit all the way on (and might make extra noise?). Properly trimmed, the end caps fit very snugly, and everything is a very nice look.

Default Noticeable wind noise with the Cargo Box

Wind noise is pretty noticeable with the cargo box. I haven't tried it yet with rails alone. I just got the Q7 this week, so not much time to experiment.
The roof rails on our previous car -- 2016 Volvo XC90 were very noisy.
