It doesn't sound like anyone has any fit issues here with any sized Thule box? From the pictures it looks like they sit pretty far forward. I' looking at buying a used Thule Atlantis 1200 685BXT, which is the longer/narrower version. Just want to make sure it fits.

I have a Thule Motion XT Alpine, which is one of the longest Thule boxes at 230 cm or 91". It fits fine.

Gorgeous! I'm in Van, BC too!

I literally have the exact same car almost...

Now if someone can photoshop the black box to the white color then I will know for sure which one to get.

Default Question

First of all...Hello! This is my 1st post! I picked up a 2017 in Glacier White with BOP for my wife this past weekend.

I want to add a Cargo box for road trips and have decided to go with the black Aeroblade Edge with a Motion XT XL.

My question to all of you is this...do the feet of the Aeroblades touch the roof rails? If so, are they padded? Will they scuff up the finish of the black optics?

I ask because depending on the amount of wind noise from the bars, we may take them off when not in use. I was wondering if it would be wise to put a layer of clear or black vinyl on the roof rails prior to installing the Aeroblades to prevent them from getting scuffed up.

Thanks!!!

Yes, the feet of the Aeroblade Edge touch the roof rails with Thule Kit 3145. The portion that touches is a large rubber foot so I can't imagine that it'd scuff. Regarding noise, I do have a faint whistle between 45-60 mph. I barely notice it with music playing.

Below is a shot of the setup.
