Our Q7 has runflats and my Allroad has traditional tires, and while the Q is in another level in regards to refinement and being quiet the allroad absorbs bumps and road imperfections much better. IMO it has to do with those horrible runflats..
Frankly, I didnt bother to look. It rained the whole time I had it, so didnt bother to check anything about it

mine has runflats but am waiting another week or so to take snows off. i am not thrilled to go to runflats - i will most likely try a 275/45/20 non runflat when these burn up which is not soon enough

Sorry for jumping in... Are you thinking about what I am thinking about:
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes
or something different? Thanks!

i would be inclined to try this first... i don't need an "ultra high performance" tire on a 3-row SUV.
a touring tire should be quieter, smoother, and better wear characteristics (especially on a heavy car).

Sorry, the link above somehow got mixed up. I am thinking about DWS6 275/45-R20 tires. Though Pirelly linked are not OEM as they are non-runflats and of different size.

The pirelli 285/45/20 runflats are more money, worse ride, 520 treadwear vs 740 on those non-runflat pirelli 275/45/20. the 275/40/20 pirelli non-runflat has a higher speed rating too (better handling / heat shedding ability), and marginally less load rating so it will only matter if you are carrying bricks around or are towing thousands of pounds... Carry a large size can of flx-a-flat in the trunk and end of story.

right now i have goodyear 285/45/20 runflats (https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes) and they are heavy as all hell... i cannot see a reason to spend $100 more a tire for less treadwear and a worse ride...

but at the end of the day i understand if peace of mind is what you are after then by all means go with a runflat.

Size is irrelevant you are within 1.5% overall in diameter and rolling circumference. No one is going to notice the 0.4" height difference between the two. and differences in alignment will be negligible.

The Continental DWS06 is a great tire, been around forever. Rides compliant and smooth, but can get a tad noisy when it starts to get low on tread.
Bigger issue is because it is a "ultra high performance" based tire. It is going to stick like glue for an all season but you will not see many miles out of it compared to a touring tire.
I would be surprised, even with regular rotations, to see anything more than 35K miles out of a set of 4 on a heavy SUV like the Q7... but YMMV
