Any updates?

Its going to be another week and half or so for me as my dealer is waiting on an unrelated part for a different issue. Promise to update the moment I get it back though.

I am a bit curious since I started noticing a very faint knocking sound and before I start a new thread I thought I'd ask here.
I can only hear it when I slow down (knock once) and then when I come to a stop (knock 2nd time). Then same thing happens when I accelerate, but due to road noise I only hear the 1st knock. It's a noise that's somewhere between knocking and clicking.
At first I thought it was the water bottles I put on rear door pockets, like water splashing around, but I realized it had nothing to do with the inertia, it happens at all different speeds. I will take a look at the subwoofer area to check if they left anything unstrapped or unsecured, and will completely empty the rear seats. Any thoughts before I start stripping the car, since we've got a lot of noise specialists in this thread?

This issue mostly seems to be occurring at slow speeds while turning. Have someone stand outside the vehicle while it is making the noise and see if it also happens at slow speed while turning the wheel. A knocking sound is a better choice of words vs clicking that I chose when starting this thread.

RJC 1, thanks. I don't know if it starts without turning, then eventually grows into a more common occurrence or not, but remembering this thread I did a few turns, stop and go, and few other tests, but I don't think mine makes the noise while turning at slow speeds.
I experimented with it since I was noticing it when coming to a stop at red light or intersection, so at next red light, I switched the Auto Start/Stop on and off, back and forth with at least 10 seconds in between, and I could clearly hear the sound coming from front, somewhere under my foot or near steering, hard to pinpoint the location, with every start. It's a quieter knock while not moving, but it's exact same thing at different intensity. This can be spotted or heard very easily, but I don't think anyone would be bothered by it unless they were driving in complete silence (which I like to do time to time, enjoy the very quiet Q7 cabin even at 70-80mph).

I will try turning wheel more and do some slow moving tests, but I still feel like this is a different issue, -again- unless it starts off like this and grows into knocking while turning.

If it is the control arm bushings they could cause noise with start stop as you describe. Remember to have someone stand/squat by your vehicle when you test it to help pinpoint the location.

RJC 1, no that was a different sound for sure, and we were able to pinpoint it in this thread: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-...sound-2917583/
They have the exact sound and it seems to be very common. It's not a deal breaker so I'll live with it for now.

However, for the first time today I got the slow speed turn sound on my Q7. I must have less than 500miles on mine. We drove about 2 hours in the rain today, when I came to my driveway, I noticed a grinding like noise and I thought it was something rubbing somewhere, or maybe it was the rain, but it wasn't. When I turned the wheel all the way, and slowly went forward or reverse, I was hearing something. I went back and forth few times, and the noise is there only for the last 1/2 to 3/4 turns of the wheel to either direction.
Being a new vehicle, I usually have smells from various places in the Q7, but today after parking it the smell was much more, it was more like a heated plastic smell. I don't know if it's still the "new" smell on the moving parts or if it was something rubbing and getting hot, causing the smell.

Here is the creaking sound, sticking the camera out drivers window, holding it below front driver door mirror (a bit amplified because I was driving right next to a wall, but I did it on purpose so you can hear) Can you confirm if this is the same noise everyone is hearing. Driving forward/reverse/forward with wheel turned all the way to left.

If this is not what you guys are hearing, I'll start a new thread.
