Yeah. They said that Z-579 adds 15mm in height while the SZ441 is around 10mm. The manual says that you can't add over 13.5mm in height. I haven't bought them yet though. Peerless has a customer service number you can call at (800) 873-1916 if you want to double check.

It's that time of year again! Did anyone use the peerless chains and if so which model? Any better options this year?

I'm looking for an option for my 20" wheels.

The dealership that sold us our Q7, sold my wife some of the Super Z6 cables. (of course this was after they laughed at her and said that the car did not need them...that it could handle the elements really well).

Well...tomorrow we're going to Mt. Hood and are expecting snow...so I've done a dry run on installing the cables tonight and they appear to be the proper fit for my 285/45R20's. It feels super-tight on the inside...like there's almost no clearance between the metal connector pieces on the cables and the suspension. I'm afraid that it is so close that I'll probably set the drive style to off-road..although I'm not sure if that will give the extra clearance I'm looking for. I'll report back since it seems this is a common question for Q7s with 20s on them. Hopefully my chains (cables) won't become a casualty laying on the side of the road.

Quick update from my experience this past weekend...no chains/cables needed. The Q7 handled everything awesomely with the Goodyear Eagle Sport All Seasons run flat tires (with about 12k wear on them). Sorry no actual useful info to report back regarding the Super Z6 cables.

How did they work? I have the same car and tire for a 2019 Q7. Do you buy a set for the back and fronts or just one set since they are AWD? If just one set did you use them on the front or back tires? Thank you!

No way I’d put chains on. Auto sock would be the only thing I’d consider.

According to https://peerlesschain.com/tire-chain-finder, for the 285/45R20 should use SZ447 Super Z-6 instead of SZ441 ...which explicitly lists them.

I just got back from a week in Mammoth and used the SZ441 on 285/45 R20 tires. They fit even though the product description page only includes R21. The CalTrans installer noted that I "would never have been able to get them on." It took him about 20-25 minutes to install when it should have taken him half that time. It took me 5 minutes to remove.

Autosock 698 fits 285/45-20 and meets Colorado requirements in severe snow emergency. Otherwise AWD with 1/4" tread meets winter rules on I70. I did fashion a hook on a stick to maneuver them under car.

SCC Z-CHAIN size Z-579 also fits.

Having said that, Goodyear ROF work OK in Summit County, CO, though not as well as Nokian EnTyres that I had on Volvo. I'm just not quite ready to ditch barely worn Goodyear OEMs and spend $$$
