Space Saver Spare for 2017 Q7 available
Apparently there is available a compact space saver spare for the 2017 Q7:
The space saver is a Vredestein unit, measuring 195/65-20.
See: New 2015 Audi Q7 Review: Evolved Mastery | Motoroids
I think somebody showed a pic of this in a previous post. (Thanks). I found this doing a google images seach.
Is anybody familiar with this? How to order???

I don't really know how much of a "spacer-saver" this unit is, given the amount of hatch space it takes up. I believe this option is specific to the Indian market.

The other thread said it was specific to the India market:

The space saver will have a speed limit on it. Looking at your reasoning I would get a full size spare and chuck it in the back when a warning come in.
I ve seen quite a few space savers on eBay in the uk but they are all 130 pcd rather than the 112 of the mk2. The Audi website (uk) had a space saver listed but only when you deleted the 3rd row (why I don't know, I would have one in the garage in case of long runs).
Best of luck with it anyway.

That is my plan A as well. Here is more info on that US spare:
quattroworld.com Forums: AoA now offers a standalone spare wheel/tire for the 2017 Q7 (4M).

I think this is the tire/wheel that my Audi dealer parts guy showed to me that they just got in for their service vehicle. He was not sure if available in U.S., just as the info you supplied said. He will inquire next week and price this out, if available, and also price out an identical wheel/tire as the one that is coming on the vehicle. My bias is to go with the latter, even though I am sure it will be much more expensive. At least we will not be limited to 50mph.
Thanks.

The part that I don't understand is the 50mph limit on a full size 18" spare. If the wheel is a EU wheel, it can certainly travel at normal speeds and the diameter of the tire is the same so it won't damage the quattro system. I see people all the time driving 70 mph with a donut spare at one corner. If the donut spare can take the abuse, I'm sure a full size spare can too. Probably just a liability issue in case someone drives too wild with one odd tire on the car.

The space saver has a limit due to the tyre been non pneumatic, not sure about what Audi are cobbling up, but it may has a different running circumference to the other 3 wheels on the car. As mentioned and without doubt the best option is a true spare wheel I.e. Same size wheel and tyre.
