The system utilized my third factory FOB. Either one of the other two can remote start the car.

Look into an authorized Fortin dealer. They make an awesome module that works with OEM key fob (lock three times to start) and also has a phone app. Best part is the phone app access is included for one year with that module and only $30 a year after that.
I just pulled it out of my A8L and will take it over to my guy outside Philly to put it in my new to me Q7 when I have the chance.
